The Main Hall

Darius strode in, immediatly everything stopped and everyone swarmed to him. The usual fan-girls giggling in the corner and old friends slapping him on the back. But he raised his hands "Settle down. This is an emergency. The Dead Swamps are marching. I need everyone I can to start setting up wards around the city. When Bishi masses everyone at the gates who will be fighting, I will set two people for every unit to ward them as best as you can." Remembering what Verani had said, he pointed the the 10 best destruction mages there were. "You will be at the center of the army as the mages guild's attack force." He pointed to another group, the best healers "Report to the hospitals near the edge of the city. You all will bee needed to heal. Those who are still learning, use your powers to boost and maintain wards." With that everyone nodded, grave or frightened faces moving off to do their jobs. Darius looked around and then went off to assist in the wards.

Rin finally reached the mages guild, her hands glowing the whole way. She didn't know if she was still safe in the city so she readied to cast, not having any drain on her. She walked through the door and looked around. "nice place."

Darius walked through the doors from the back office, seeming a commoner in the middle of magicians with the way he was dressed. But those magicians followed this commoners orders without hesitation. He looked at Rin "May I help you little one?"

"I was sent here. I wish to join the mages guild. And by the sounds, the more help the better." Rin smiled. She knew he'd think she was just another weak teenager who thinks she's invincible, but he'd be wrong in thinking that.

Darius smiled to her "Glad to hear it. And you're right. War is knocking at our gates again it seems. What is your specialty?" He sits down and points to the chair across from him.

"Destruction magic. Definately not healing, thats my brothers specialty, although he's mainly a fighter." Rin sat down in the chair beside him. "Any place to put me?"

Darius reached out without looking, catching the arm of a young man in a red robe "Kirik. Meet your new apprentice." Darius grinned at Rin "You'll learn alot under this one. He's got a knack for the stuff. Just go with him and do whatever he says. Try not to cause too much trouble. I know how young destruction mages are."

"I'm quite experienced. been looking for a school for a while." She looked at her new master. "Hello there. Proud to be taught by you." She held out a hand.

Kirik gave her a slightly stressed smile, taking the hand "Hello. At least she has some manners. Not like the last one." He gave a small grimace at the memory. He turned to Darius "Is she to come with me to the battle field?" Darius shrugged. "Thats up to her. If you think your ready, you may go with him. But it will be extremely dangerous."

"Welcome to my life. I'll go. You'll need all the help you can get. Just tell me where to aim." Rin smiled at both of them, knowing her true power. She doesn't overestimate herself. She knows what she can do, and has proven that many times to many people.

Darius and Kirik both smiled. Darius chuckled and sat back in his chair "You're going to fit in perfectly here. And just work on keeping those undead away from the soldiers."

Rin got back up on her feet. "So when are we heading out?" She wanted to fight. She was full of energy, full of spunk.

Darius shook his head some "Easy now. It'll be another day or two till they get here. If you can, help them set up wards around the city." He stood and nodded to them both "Good luck." He then left to help the others of the guild.

"Wait, Darius. I have a thought." She explained herself on building obelisks and enchanting them to shoot various elemental balls at the enemy. Sort of like turrets. These would be a great help to the fighters guild, and in two days they could secure the entire city walls, and rest to get some energy back.
