Northern Markets

Rin sighed, her stomach growled. "Trace, we need some food soon. I don't want to end up..."
Trace nodded. "I know, Rin, we'll get some food." He walked over to a stall with lots of bread. "Hey, is that one of the high council over there?" He pointed to a person with very wealthy looking robes. The shopkeeper looked over to see the person. "Sir, I'm sure you want to try these fine breads!" And disappeared into the crowd. Trace then grabbed a few loaves of bread. "lets eat."
Rin sighed again. "You know stealing's wrong, Trace. You were brought up better -"
"Rin, seriously, I'd rather stay alive doing wrongs then die doing the 'right thing.' Thats how we survive now. Neither of us can ever find any work, and we are basically nobodies."
"Thats not-" She stopped and frowned, slumping to the ground next to him. "Yeah, give me some bread. You could sell -"
"I'm never selling these. You know what these mean to me." He nodded towards his blades.
"Whatever. I bet they could fetch -"
"The answer is no."
"Okay. I'm just saying." She sighed and took off her hat. People stared at them walking by, as if they were some amusement in a zoo.

Bishi walked up behind Trace and Rin, having seen their recent acts of theft. But he also took note of the blades hanging at Trace's side. He had donned a dark cloak and was hiding his face so no one would recognize him and changed his voice "Thats a fine set of blades you have there young'un. Per'chance ye'd want to sell them? I run a weapons shop not to far from here."

Trace jumped, but Rin just sat there, munching on her bread. "They are nice blades. But I'd never sell them. Family heirloom. Who are you?" Trace tilted his head.
Rin looked up, and had shivers down her spine. His eyes creeped her out a bit, being black. She couldve sworn she saw him somewhere on a poster. "I've seen you around..." She started drawing on her leg with her finger, a small blue light glowing where she wrote. "So your the guildmaster of the fighters guild. Bishi is it?"
Trace sat back down. "Nice to meet you." He held his hand out.

Bishi smirked some and stood straight, tossing back his hood and letting his hair fall out "So you've got no experiance with those blades? Pity. Was looking for a new apprentice." He turns to Rin "And we have a little mage as well. Its a pleasure to meet you both. Though you know you're going to have to work off those loaves of bread now, correct?"

Rin and Trace were both taken aback by the last statement. "I'm pretty damn good at fighting with these blades. And we didn't do anything wrong. We work for him. We get him good sales and he pays us back."

Rin nodded, thinking it was a far-fetched idea. "And I'm not a little mage, you'll probably figure out eventually."

Bishi laughed slightly "Pretty damn good with the blades? I'll have to test that some time. But as for now...Can you tell me the name of the shop's owner?" "Baris" He thought to himself, wondering if the magic user could read minds as well

Trace thought for a moment. "Well, I'm not really sure. I always called him boss."

"Baris, Trace. Thats his name. Cant believe you still don't know that." She hoped he wasn't just leading her on.

Bishi smirked down at them. She'd fallen for it hook line and sinker. "You've still much to learn. His name is Gavin. This is a family run stall. And he currently only has a wife, not children." With that, Bishi reached down and took them by their forearms "And now you two come with me."

Trace grabbed his blade and stabbed it into the arm that was holding Rin. "Don't you touch my sister." He was furious now, and took the other blade out and broke his hold on him. Rins hands were glowing a bright blue even through the gloves. "Don't mess with us."

Bishi gave a small gasp then growled, pulling the sword from his arm. The wound sealed "You know, that kinda hurt. And assaulting the head of the fighters guild is not the best idea. You wish to draw your blades, you follow me. If not, you do as I say and earn that bread." He turned to Rin "And little one, I'd quell that right now. If you don't remember the law, here's a refresher. 'All uses of magic inside the city shall be delt with by the mages guild. Unauthorized magic users will be punished at the fullest extent of the law'" His hand rested on hilt of his ninjato that was no longer hidden under the cape. "And I am that law."

"You really want me to kick your ass for touching my sister? Lets go. And no one person is the law." Trace was furious, and he just wanted to get this over with, kill this bastard who's messing with them.

Rin shrugged. "Whatever. Not like the guards aren't pushovers anyway. We've handled our fair share of them." Rin went against the guards several times, and none of them ended well for them.

Bishi sighed and shook his head "If this is what you really wish, then fine. Though killing me will be more difficult than you think." He turned and walked silently towards and through the Guild.

Trace laughed. "What, afraid to face me here and now? need to be around your damn cronies? Fine. I'll go kick your god damn ass up there where everyone can see." He followed, looking extremely confident. Overconfident even.

Rin followed. Trace, you idiot, you're going to get killed.
